Sunbeam 'Silver Bullet' Car, Wolverhampton

The 'Silver Bullet' pictured at Sunbeam's works in Upper Villiers Street, Wolverhampton. In 1930, the Silver Bullet car, driven by Kaye Don, attempted to break the world land speed record at Daytona Beach, Florida. Despite its streamlined shape and powerful engine, mechanical problems and poor beach conditions meant that the car only managed 190mph, failing to beat the land speed record.
