Japanese sword guard (tsuba)

Bronze, nademaru gata, gold fukurin mimi tsuba in the Goto style. It has a nanako ground with high relief shishi in gold. The style indicates that this tsuba was in the style of court dress made for a wakizashi, or possibly the slightly smaller court dress sword, the kamishimozashi.
