Fancy Dress Contest

1951. Young schoolchildren taking part in a fancy dress competition 1951/52, possibly one of the local schools. In the centre is Councillor E. Cunliffe, chairman of Aireborough Urban District Council. On his right is Miss Margaret Bowes library assistant and then Councillor Miss Holdsworth. The little girl dressed as a puritan, on the back row won the competition. It was part of a road safety awareness campaign.
