Bridge Street Railway Bridge, Kings Cross-Leeds Express

June 1960. In this image the Bradford portion of the Kings Cross-Leeds express is being pulled by a B.1. locomotive crossing Bridge Street Railway Bridge to enter Morley Top Railway Station, about a year before the station was closed to passenger traffic. A new pavement down the hill on the left fronts the new three-storey flats (not seen) where the slum clearance property of Bradley Place and Brook Square had previously stood. The car is close to the front entrance of the Albion Public House and the old mill buildings on either side of the bridge belong to Lumb, Walshaw and White, textile machine manufacturers.
