High Cross Roman Bronze Dog

This delightful bronze dog was found during excavations on the Roman settlement at High Cross.

High Cross lies at the crossroads of two of the main roads of Roman Britain; the Fosse Way, which ran from Exeter to Lincoln, and Watling Street, which led from Kent, via London to Cheshire.
