near Athlone, [Westmeath], [Leinster], Ireland. This is thought to be the first Irish record of this species (Entomologists Monthly Magazine, 31: 120-121, 1895). King collected this specimen and identified it as *L. dryas* which was confirmed by Mr. McLachlan and Mr. Morton. This specimen has been referred to many times. W.J.
