Ligature holder and guide

THACKRAY LEEDS ENGLAND STAINLESS STEEL (stamped on the back of the handle) MANU Chas. F. Thackray Limited. Early 20th century Leeds, England. This is a thick, blunt, curved needle, mounted on a handle which doubles as a container which houses a spool of silk ligature thread. It was used to pass a ligature round a blood vessel for ligation in continuity.
