The Temple of Uyeno seen through a Pine-tree Branch

RU CRE HIROSHIGE, Ando; (Japanese; 1797-1858) When interviewed about his art collection in 2004, Morgan explained "I like Japanese prints. I think they were at the height of fashion in Glasgow at the beginning of the century. Rennie Mackintosh was very interested in Japanese prints, they were a great influence. I came across some and I liked them, and kept my eyes open for those I could find. They may seem strange compared to the rest of my collection, but it is my personal taste really. One man's taste." This is one of four Japanese prints in Morgan's collection.
