"The Hous'hill Nitshill / Grate for card room / in wrought iron armour bright / price to be given for grate- / for fire back & fire irons separately" CRE MACKINTOSH, Charles Rennie; (Scottish; 1868-1928) Mackintosh designed decorative schemes, furniture and furnishings for 'Hous'hill', the home of his great patron and tea room entrepreneur, Catherine Cranston, in 1904. In 1909 he returned to create a new Card Room. See 4112, 41770 and a later page in this sketchbook 53014/48.
