RB. in fountain pen ink on front cover. One large ink blot and one nib smear on front cover. Rectangular sticker with the legend '57245 TO 57256'. Canna, [perhaps from Compass Hill?], [Highland], [Scotland] [Palaeogene] Label says: "Magentic basalt from Canna 19 Aug 1864 S N". The handwriting may be Lord Kelvin's.
