This specimen is from William Hunter's collection. It is not associated with a cabinet label but may have been misplaced and research could match it up to an entry in the Trustees' Catalogue (1785) listing all the insects. One of a pair. Many of the specimens in Hunter's eighteenth century collection were utilised by Fabricius and other contemporary entomologists for describing new species.
