"The Piazzetta" 1880

This well-known view of Venice looks over the Piazzetta, with St Mark?s column in the foreground and the church in the background. As Whistler made this image directly onto the copper etching plate, the printed impression is a mirror-image view of reality. (See also GLAHA 46608/ 49964/ 49965).
