Two studies of flowers (recto) Studies of flower petals (verso) 1877/1896

Some soiling and stains recto and verso CRE WHISTLER, Beatrix; (English; 1857-1896) As an independent designer, Beatrix Whistler specialised in colourful sprays of flowers, berries and birds. From 1877 onwards, Beatrix Whistler sold panels to various furniture makers, like William Watt & Co., who also bought designs by her first husband E. W. Godwin (1833-1886), architect and designer. They would be incorporated into furniture, like the panels on the Aesthetic Style Cabinet, GLAHA 40897. This could be a study for a decorative panel, like GLAHA 50215.

There is a study of flower petals on the back.
