A German woman of Viersen, Germany, removes a Nazi poster setting forth a purported Russian proclamation to the German people from the wall of a building in the captured town March 2, 1945. Viersen, less than five miles to the northwest of Munchen-Gladbach, was in the path of the Ninth U.,S. Army's drive toward the Rhine River.
