Evaluation Report on Hanwell Locks, St. Margaret's Road, Hanwell, Ealing, W7 2NF
Four trenches were excavated across the site, revealing concrete, tarmac and made ground overlying the natural silt, clay and gravel. Within the made ground deposits were the remains of the 19th century metal works and later 20th century warehouse, which overlaid river deposited sediments.
