The soldier M. Rabenschlag had been in English captivity in the Stobs prisoner of war camp (Roxburgshire in Scotland) since around 1916. In the album, numerous of his fellow prisoners handwritten short entries and their home addresses in the years 1916/17. The camp at Stobs was established south of Hawick in 1903.
