Auguste Peix was born in 1894 in Châteauroux (05) and grew up in Réallon in the Hautes Alpes. A private 2nd class soldier, this son of farmers belonged to the 157th Infantry Regiment and was, like his comrades, particularly exposed to the horrors of this war.
