Historical Notice: Family of Kefallinia claiming a Byzantine origin, though its presence and its (Venetian) title of nobility is not confirmed before the 15th c. Members of the family served in the Venetian army, participated in the Orlov revolt (1768) and the Greek War of Independence (1821), and assumed various offices in the Ionian state.
