A Stuart gentleman is standing before Whitehall, entitled "Sinner's Seat", in front of which hell is depicted as a man-eating monster. He is contemplating the toad before him above which heaven is shown as a cloud with righteous men; representing an allegory of Vice and Virtue. Engraving.
Lettering: A toad better than a sinner. Heaven; the sinners seat; hell. What more loathsome can be to mortal eye than this most ugly toad which is hard by. Yhough a toad I be and object of mans hate yet better am I then any reprobate.
