The Shwedagon pagoda lies to the west of Kandawgyi Lake on Singuttara Hill, dominating the skyline of the city. The Pagoda was left remarkable untouched after the terrible bombings of 1945. Rangoon (Yangon) was the former capital of Burma. See image: K026475
