Evolution of the material in the monolithic components machining process
Evolución del material en el proceso de mecanizado de piezas monolíticas
The figure shows how in the machining of monolithic components up to a 95% of the raw material is removed to manufacture the final part. This fact makes the process clearly inefficient in terms of material comsumption although the mechanical properties of the part are excellent compared with the process of assembly from several smaller parts.
