Domnic Rogers, youngest of a family of seven, was the uncle of Donal Rogers, the contributor. Domnic Rogers was born late 1890's in Cloonradoon Strokestown Co Roscommon. He joined the army with other lads from the area. My father told me, that Domnic was to visit his home before he went to France and if Domnic had found his friends who were in an RGA Flying colum he would not have been found. My aunt told me she wrote letters to lads she knew in France and she got letters back from them. My aunt also told me the army wrote a letter to Domnic's mother part of which stated that he got the last rites before he died.
