Branta bernicla (Linnaeus): ANATIDAE: Brent goose
This sub-species breeds in Arctic coastal areas of Central and Western Siberia. Over half the population overwinters in southern England, many of them on the Exe estuary, feeding on eel grass, and nearby winter crops.
