Henry Foy (3610) served with the 2nd battalion of the Royal Inniskiling Fusiliers from 1891 until 1910. Due to the outbreak of World War 1, Henry Foy returned to service on the 25th of August 1914. He was first listed in the 5th btn until the 4th of September 1914. He was transferred to the 9th btn (B company) on the 14th of September 1914, where he was promoted to Sergeant. On the 5th of October 1915 he was sent to France. He was promoted to Company Sergeant Major in April 1916. A letter was received (11th July 1916) home to inform his family that he was injured in the field as acting Company Sergeant Major of the 9th I.NF on the 1st of July 1916. He returned home injured on the 23rd of July 1916. On the 18th of October 1916 he was posted to the 12th btn. He was placed on army reserve on 5th of April 1919 upon demobilization.
