A composite photograph of a British soldier's family

A photograph of a British soldier separated from his wife and child.

    • A photograph of a separated British soldier's family.
    • The main subject of this photograph is a soldier, photographed in a studio setting. There is a ring on his wedding-ring finger, and the outline of his cap badge appears to show a crown above a seven-rayed circle (suggesting either the Army Service Corps or the Devonshire Regiment). Inset in the top left-hand corner is a small photograph of a woman and young boy, no doubt the soldier’s wife and child. There is no information on the reverse of this photographic postcard to indicate where mother and son, or soldier–father, posed for their photographs, nor are their names given.
