Title

Soldier of the Leibgarde-Infanterie-Regiment Nr. 115

Peter Kaiser, Soldier of the Leibgarde-Infanterie-Regiment Nr. 115

Description

    • As the First World War started 100 years ago, I would like you to take a minute to remember the soldiers from my family that suffered and died in the war. I want to share a picture that shows Leibgardist Peter Kaiser, who was my great-grandfather before he left his small town called Buch near St. Goarshausen, Germany to fight at the western front. He was enlisted in the 5th. Kompanie of the Leibgarde-Infanterie-Regiment Nr. 115 (1. Großherzoglich Hessisches). Wounded, as my grandma recorded, by toxic gas during the battle of the Somme in 1916, Peter died from his war injuries shortly after the war.
