Title

German Diary 1914 West Front

German Diary 1914 West Front

Description

    • My grandfather Heinrich Muegge wrote this diary starting 2. August 1914 until 5. October 1914. It describes the mobilization in Berlin, the journey to the West Front via Belgium into France. His service ended approximately one day walking distance away from St. Quentin where he was injured by a French bullet which struck his right shoulder. Since the diary is written very accurate I assume that it was rewritten after my grandfather returned home.
