Description

    • The artist has combined three half-length portraits of leading Edo (contemporary Tokyo) beauties within a single format. In the centre is Tomimoto Toyohina who was famed for her singing of a a popular style of music known as Tomimoto-bushi. Okia, on her right, was Miss Edo of the time and the beauty of the third, Ohisa was frequently the talk of the town.
