Story of James Devin
A Royal Dublin Fusilier
Photograph of James Devin Three medals Death memorial plaque
James Devin (17520) 1st battalion of the Royal Irish Fusiliers, died 07 May 1917, aged 24; he was my uncle. James had a background in horses and taxis. The family story goes that James had been drinking and signed up. The next day he realised what he had done and hid! But in the end he went to fight and was killed in 1917. His picture has been kept in our family for over 80 years.
